Good Job on Moscow Sidewalk Ramps

The following letter to the editor appeared in the Moscow-Pullman Daily News, Moscow, Idaho, on Tuesday, July 20, 2010:

============

Dear editor,

I am thankful for the recently constructed yellow ramps at many street corners of Moscow's sidewalks. Good job to all who helped plan, fund, and construct them.

They are very convenient when I am scootering about town on my kick scooter, helping me to cross streets from sidewalk to sidewalk easily and quickly.

I expect that disabled persons in manual and powered wheelchairs, and parents pushing baby strollers, are thankful for them, too. That project was federal tax money well spent and construction workers well employed.

Note that my letter as submitted actually said, "That project was tax money (local? state? federal?) well spent and construction workers well employed." I guess the newspaper editor knew it was funded by the Obama administration.
